Registering a device in OrbiWAN

This guide explains how to register new Decentlab devices on the OrbiWAN Release 7 platform. The steps provided here will ensure that devices are set up properly.

After logging into your OrbiWise account, click on the Profiles tab in the top menu and choose Device Profiles from the dropdown. Next, click on the Import Device Profile button. To select the vendor, click on Select vendor, type Decentlab into the search bar, and then choose it from the appearing options.

Following this, pick the desired device from the presented list.

Continue by choosing the appropriate firmware version for the device and select the profile region that matches your operational area.

Once these choices are made, finalize the setup by clicking the Import Device Profile button to complete the import of the device profile. Additionally, the official Decentlab payload encoders and decoders specific to the device will also be automatically imported.

NOTE: a device profile needs to be imported only once for a specific device model.

For device registration, return to the Devices tab and click on +Device. Enter the DevEUI and AppKey given by Decentlab and give the device a distinctive name. Then, attach the previously imported device profile to this new device.

If presented with a selection of service profiles, choose the one suggested by the network operator. At this point, you may also input additional details such as the device's physical location. Furthermore, you have the option to associate the device with various groups and applications if required.

To finalize the registration, simply click on Add Device. This action confirms the device's registration and completes the setup, making the device operational within the corresponding LoRaWAN network.
